Development Situation And Countermeasures Of Beach Volleyball In Hainan Province

The beach volleyball sport defined as the volleyball game played on the beach was born in the United States in the 1920 s. It has rocketed into a modern sport event with rich content and unique charm ever since its birth. Beach volleyball became the official Olympic sport at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games, and it is also the second Olympic volleyball event besides the indoor volleyball, drawing further attention of various countries in the world and making the sport move to a new development peak. Nowadays, beach volleyball has not only been a new highlight of the emerging sports, but rather has become one of the world’s most popular summer sports. In China, beach volleyball has developed quickly and widely with the flourishing development and gradually improved competitive level.In pursuit of developing beach volleyball, Hainan province not only has the advantages of good geography and kind climate, it also has advanced venues and facilities as well as solid mass base and athletic performance guarantee. However, from the perspective of the universal law of raising the level of competitive sports, it is far from enough to improve its competitive level only with these advantages. In order to improve the overall level of beach volleyball in Hainan province, we must establish a sound and sophisticated development plan to explore more practical, more efficient ways to further develop beach volleyball in Hainan province with such a good foundation.This thesis takes an investigation for the current status of Hainan’s beach volleyball and makes the theoretical analyses and researches through the methods of literature review, expert interviews, questionnaires, mathematical statistics, etc. The findings show that the public interest in beach volleyball, the emphasis placed by relevant departments and school leadership, the improvement of teachers and trainers training system, the promotion of the site facilities, the propaganda in Hainan province, the successful hosting of beach volleyball events in Hainan Province respectively play significant roles in the further development of beach volleyball in Hainan province. According to the existing problems of beach volleyball in Hainan province, this thesis aims to put forward some suggestive and constructive countermeasures in accordance with the actual situation of Hainan province, thus it will be of tremendous assistance to the overall development of beach volleyball game in Hainan province.
