Teachers’ sense of self efficacy is a kind of belief and judgment of teachers’ ability to do their own work, it has a profound influence on Teachers’ teaching and students’ learning. The study of teachers’ self efficacy is of great significance to the smooth implementation of the new curriculum reform and the professional development of teachers.In this study, the domestic and foreign scholars of the effectiveness of the scale as the main reference, combined with the characteristics of high school geography, the preparation of the high school geography teachers’ self efficacy questionnaire in Xinyang city, after the questionnaire through a preliminary test to ensure the questionnaire with good reliability and validity, an empirical investigation and analysis on the current situation of self efficacy of senior high school geography teachers in Xinyang City, the results show that:⑴ Xinyang city high school geography teachers’ sense of self-efficacy is in a high level in the middle.⑵ There are significant differences in the self efficacy of high school geography teachers in Xinyang city. In the whole and each dimension, male teachers’ efficacy level is higher than that of female teachers.⑶ Self efficacy of high school geography teachers in Xinyang city at different stages of age had significant difference. Overall planning and preparation dimension,the dimension of classroom management efficiency are increased with the seniority of the upward trend; subject knowledge and cultural literacy dimension, interactive communication dimension, teachers’ efficacy in the beginning stage showed an upward trend, but after 15- showed a significant downward trend; teaching strategies and skills dimension, learning and teaching effect evaluation dimension teachers’ self-efficacy was first decreased and then increased.⑷ There is a significant difference in the self efficacy of senior high school geography teachers with different professional titles in Xinyang. The overall self-efficacy level and the teachers’ efficacy in each dimension are on the upward trend with the increasing of the title.⑸ Different professional in Xinyang City high school geography teacher self-efficacy has significant difference. Geography teacher professional graduate high school geography teachers as a whole and the dimensions of self-efficacy level were significantly higher than that of non geographic non normal graduate teacher self-efficacy level.⑹ Education, school type, whether as a teacher in charge of the city high school geography teacher self-efficacy is not significant difference.Finally on the basis of investigation and research results, from three aspects of high school geography teachers, school, local government put forward to enhance the Xinyang city high school geography teacher self-efficacy, for reference.
