Along with the rapid development of our economy and the resulting surge in demand for skilled talents, all types of colleges, especially the vocational colleges, were highly expected in training of high quality.As the key to the cultivation of the students, higher vocational teachers were put forward higher request by the new era, they have to face an extraordinary pressure, discuss how to ease their job burnout is urgent problem.Based on this, this research start with the survey of psychological capital and professional identity, Methods the Psychological Capital Questionnaire by Luthans, Maslach Burnout Inventory and Teachers’ professional identity scale by Wei Shuhua, all the survey involved teachers from 12 higher vocational colleges in Guang Dong province. Method with adopting random cluster samping, 518 questionnaire were distributed.T-test,ANOVA, correlation, regression and mediator effect were used to analyse the data by statistical software SPSS17.0, and to explore psychological capital, professional identity and occupational burnout of higher vocational college teachers and to investigate the relationship among them.Results:(1) Teachers of higher vocational colleges has a higher level of psychological capital and the level of professional identity, there are still some teachers showed a higher level of job burnout.(2) Teachers of higher vocational colleges with different age, gender, education display significant difference in the psychological capital, job burnout and professional identity.(3) The results were that significant correlation exist among psychological capital, job burnout and professional identity.The significant positive correlation exstied among total dimensions and each dimension of psychological capital and total dimensions and each dimension of professional identity. The significant negative correlation exstied among total dimensions and each dimension of psychological capital and total dimensions and each dimension of job burnout. The significant negative correlation exstied among total dimensions and each dimension of professional identity and total dimensions and each dimension of job burnout.(4) Psychological capital and professional identity significantly predicted job burnout for teachers of higher vocational colleges.(5) Professional identity is the mediator between psychological capital and job burnout for teachers of higher vocational colleges.
