Lifelong education has been a trend with the society entering the era of information and knowledge, then school education is not only to give students some disciplines basic knowledge and basic skills, but also cultivate students’ independent learning ability for lifelong learning. The teaching method of " teaching model guided”, which accord with the current education mode has been widely accepted by education. It fulls of meaning for the student’s study interest, self study ability and cooperation ability and so on. But now the teaching model is rarely used in rural middle schools in Qiannan minority areas. This paper adopted the method of literature and investigation, starting from the concept of “teaching model guided” to analysis its theoretical basis, significance and implementation strategies, explore the significance of “teaching model guided ”for improving the teaching efficiency and reform in biology teaching of middle school.This paper made a survey of the biology classroom teaching in the rural junior middle school in Qiannan minority nationality area, the result suggested 60% of the class teaching is given priority to teacher, 74.7% still using the teaching method,and the learning of biological knowledge by rote memory reached 46.6%. The No.2 middle school of Huishui county has implemented “teaching model guided” mode since 2010. The biology final average score of grade seven in the recent three years between No.4 Middle School and No.2 Middle School were compared, the result suggested The second the average score of No.2 Middle School was slightly higher than the No.4 Middle School though the student’s owned the same entrance. From the senior high school entrance examination scores, the growth rate of average score is large since 2013. Although teaching scores can not truly evaluate teaching mode, it shows that “teaching model guided” mode is meaningful for students to master basic knowledge. On the comprehensive analysis and evaluation, It is necessary to combine the learning ability, scientific literacy and other aspects of the students. The effect of “teaching model guided” mode is in many aspects, not only affect the teaching habits and behavior of teachers, but also students’ academic achievement and other comprehensive quality. The individual should be able to extract the effective information from various information with the increase of all kinds of information explosion in today’s society. Qiannan area is located in the minority, how to implement “teaching model guided” mode in this environment is considered in this paper. The implementation of rural junior middle school biology teaching in the minority areas of Qiannan will be discussed from the departments of the preparation of the teaching model, teaching content and teaching implementation.
