The paper makes a summary about the problems in the implementation of the new senior school English curriculum in Tibet. With the continuous development of society, the reform of English Curriculum in Tibet will continue to progress deeply. All the time, English teaching is facing many difficulties in senior school, including students’ weak English foundation, poor English learning habits, lacking outstanding teachers, etc. The purpose of choosing thesis is to discuss the main problems in the process of the new senior English curriculum, actively seek and explore curriculum reform strategy on English teaching, and make good use of the countermeasures into teaching so as to optimize teaching process, and enhance the classroom instruction efficiency, help develop students’ good learning strategies, promote students’ abilities of using English.In this paper, taking senior schools in Shannan Prefecture of Tibet as investigation objects, the questionnaire, documents and the way of visiting are used for analyzing the present situation and problems of current English new course in senior schools in our prefecture. The author analyzes the main problems present in the process of senior English teaching in our prefecture, including the problems of English teachers, teachers’ professional development consciousness, teaching evaluation systems, teacher training and students’ motivation and so on.After theoretical consideration to the curriculum standards, combining the teaching practice, it makes thorough research on how to carrying out the senior English teaching with the idea of the new curriculum standards and puts forward the ways and means of achieving the new curriculum objects in the course of the current English teaching: 1. To improve the Tibetan senior high school English teachers’ overall development of comprehensive quality; 2. The reasonable utilization and development of curriculum resources; 3. To stimulate students interest in English; 4. To improve the high school English teaching evaluation mechanism; 5. To achieve the English teaching and training the effective promotion.
