With the continuous development of society and the increasing demands for the foreign language talents, English curriculum reform has become the key point of the education reform in China. The Standard of English Curriculum in Senior School(in experiment) has promulgated since 2003, and English curriculum reform has implemented for more than ten years. In the process of the development, there are some achievements, while still remaining many issues.The purpose of this study is to explore the status of the implementation of the new English curriculum in senior school English teaching in Xian, and to analyze its influencing factors, so as to find the problems and offer some suggestions. Based on the analysis of the previous researches on curriculum implementation, this dissertation employed questionnaires and interviews to investigate the implementation status of the new curriculum in senior school of Xi’an,and analyzed the affecting factors of the implementation. The results show that the implementation of the English curriculum reform is general good in the teaching objectives, teaching contents and teaching methods. But there are still some problems in the evaluation methods and the use of resources. The influencing factors of the implementation include the characteristics of the curriculum reform, the support of the school, the teachers’ concepts and abilities, the curriculum resources and the teacher training.
