| The value and value choice of contemporary college students is a social phenomenon which is worth concern. Economic globalization and the information network have brought miscellaneous social changes. The impact of new media on the college students is more prominent, especially various changes brought to the university students’ values choice, and problems caused shall be paid more attention to. Analysis of new changes new media environment have brought to the value choice of college students has very important meaning on deepening the value research and cultivating and practicing socialist core values.New media quickly became popular among college students with its various modes of transmission and unique propagation characteristics, bringing media changes to their value choice, which made the value choice of college students present characteristics of diversification, enhanced subjective consciousness, rationality and pragmatics. In new media environment, the value choice of college students shall abide by the socialist core values and outstanding traditional culture of our country, with unity of rational factors and irrational factors, handling the relation of material needs and spiritual needs well, to make correct value choice; at the same time, give full play to the role of new media on the guidance of university students’ values choice.
