Composition teaching is an important part of the language teaching. As a long time affected by oriented education, some teachers in the mode of teaching takes an stereotype examination of the composition training, so that students’ writing skills are limited, and their personal characteristics are hampered.For taking the student as the main part, stimulating students’ innovation spirit and cultivating students’ ability to satisfy the needs of the social actual composition are the requests of new curriculum reform, all those indicate the new direction for the development of composition teaching. As the development and utilization of new curriculum resources is an important way of the curriculum reform, thus the article tries to research from this point of view, and introduces the classic speeches to the teaching of writing, to activate the current rigid examination of the composition teaching, and provide an effective option for the development of composition teaching.This paper can be divided into four parts. The first part combines with the development of speech and the meaning of the classic speech to summarize the main characteristics of the classic speech, and this part intend to provide reference for the later discussion. The second part discusses the necessity of applying classic speech to the composition teaching according to the teaching condition. The third part firstly discusses the advanced theory such as the life education theory and the dialogue teaching theory, which the point of the article hold and conformed. Then, it discusses the feasibility of introducing the development and utilization of the classic speech into the composition teaching as a teaching resource by research the demonstration effect of the classic speech, which include that the demonstration of select material, structure and the use of language. In the fourth part, it focuses on the strategy to apply the classic speeches to the composition teaching. On the basis of pertinence, ordering and developing, this part discusses three effective teaching methods to exploit and utilize the classic speech to improve the level of composition teaching. These three effective methods are creating the teaching situation, providing the teaching case and carrying out the comprehensive practice activity.
