Objective The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of a fancy rope skipping exercise intervention on physical fitness and the daily physical activity of students in elementary schools. In order to provide the objective basis for the physical fitness of elementary school students.Methods A total of 62 second-grade pupils were recruited from Liuying Road primary school in Shanghai, China. All participants were randomize divided into either the rope skipping intervention group and conventional PE group.The intervention group received 12 weeks of twice weekly, 35-minute rope skipping sessions. Physical fitness and Daily physical activity were measured before and after 12 weeks for both groups. Two groups of classroom adopt POLAR TEAM2 Pro type heart rate table team training system for heart rate monitor, all attend daily physical activity. Using SPSS19.0 data software package, using T test, descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation analysis of the data processing and analysis. Data were expressed as mean ± standard deviation, P < 0.05 indicated that the difference was statistically significant.Result1) 12 weeks of exercise intervention, body mass index change trend.Body shape: There was no significant change in body weight and body fat rate in the intervention group, while the weight, BMI, upper limb, thigh and total body fat rate of female students were significantly decreased(P <0.05). Bone mineral density: After 12 weeks of exercise, the bone density of the two groups showed a trend of rising, The intervention group of the thigh,trunk and TBLH bone density compared with that before the intervention significantly improved(P < 0.05). Body function: The growth rate of vital capacity was significantly higher than that in control group, but there was no significant difference in maximal oxygen uptake index. Physical quality:dry group of boys and girls of the grip and the 50 meter race increased significantly.2) 12 weeks after exercise, the length of the control group was significantly higher than that of the intervention group, but the growth rate of MVPA was lower than that of intervention group. Two groups of dry prognosis on weekends, ST, MVPA were higher than the study day, the intervention group on weekends, MVPA growth rate is larger; After 12 weeks of exercise, there was significant difference between the two groups of ST and MVPA in the groups(P < 0.01), boys ST, MVPA length was significantly higher than girls(P < 0.05), but in the intervention group, the long growth rate of MVPA was higher than that of boys in the intervention group.3) Boys daily physical activity MVPA length and vital capacity show significant positive correlation(P < 0.05), and 50 meters show significant negative correlation(P < 0.05); Girls ST length and body fat rate are all significant positive correlation(P < 0.05), and significant negative correlation to the lung capacity, the right hand grip strength(P < 0.05);Girls MVPA length and vertical jump, fancy jump rope, height were significant positive correlation(P < 0.05), and BMI, 50 meters show significant negative correlation(P < 0.05).Conclusions1) Effect of 12 weeks of rope skipping exercise on physical fitness of students is mainly reflected in body composition, bone mineral density,function, strength and speed quality improvement, girls defatting effect is obvious.2) 12 weeks of rope skipping exercise intervention, students’ daily MVPA intervention before long increased, girls intervention effect is better than boys.3) Physical activity and physical health level of the students showed a positive correlation, especially the girl.
