English writing teaching and corrective feedback are essential for cultivating English writing skills. But there are some problems in the practical corrective feedback. Analyzing the actual survey results and authentic writing samples will be a good reference for studying corrective feedback as well as a reference for English writing teaching.By using the self-made questionnaire, the thesis takes 626 students of three grades including Grade One, Grade Two and Grade Three in two middle schools in Yanji city and 30 teachers as research objects. The study shows students have positive attitudes towards corrective feedback, but do not pay attention to it and do not correct errors in time. When correcting, students still have difficulties in vocabulary and grammar. Teachers also have positive attitudes towards corrective feedback, they usually use direct feedback, but cannot guarantee that the high frequency of feedback. Analyzing 16 writing samples reveals teachers focus on feedback on vocabulary and grammar, and corrective feedback is random.According to the survey and analysis, the thesis suggests students should correct errors in time and accumulate writing knowledge. Teachers should provide corrective feedback timely and combine direct and indirect feedback.
