Abstract/Summary:
In the popularization of higher education, improving teaching ability and promoting the upgrading of the quality of higher education have become the focus of attention.As the main teaching and research activities.university teachers have a direct impact on the quality of higher education.Developed countries have set up teaching development centers to enhance the teachers teaching ability,and under the guidance of the Ministry of Education documents,teachers’teaching development Center has been established as a specialized agency to promote the faculty teaching ability.Teachers’ teaching development Center has built a short time and lacked construction experience,leading to a theoretical and practical significance topics.There are 30 Centers in colleges and universities of Zhejiang province and this study is based on 30 teachers’ teaching development centers.Through deeply investigating and studying, this study finds out the problems and puts forward relative measures. The thesis consists of six parts:The first part is the introduction,which mainly introduces the research origin,mining,the research status and the research methods;The second part is the current situation of the construction of teachers’ teaching development center in Zhejiang province;The third part is the problems and the reasons that the teachers’ teaching development centers in Zhejiang province have; The fourth part takes teachers’ teaching development center of Hangzhou Normal University and Zhejiang Foreign Language College as an example, analyzing the construction situation of teachers’ teaching development centers in Zhejiang province; The fifth part takes Center for Research on Learning and Teaching of University of Michigan as an example,exploring the excellent experience in foreign centers;The sixth part is the countermeasures of the construction of teachers’ teaching development center in Zhejiang province.The problems existing in the construction of teachers’ teaching development center mainly include function orientation is convergence and lacks features; work responsibility is single and the work content is narrow;personnel configuration is less, and the strength is weak; service group is too small, and the structure is single; funds is insufficient and has a single source.There are four main reasons for these problems: the evaluation of teachers attaches importance to research,ignoring teaching;the college does not take the center work significance seriously;center staff professional level is low; centers set up a short time and lack construction experience.I put forward relative measures: education authorities develop policies to strengthen the centers’ guidance;colleges and universities should attach importance to the construction of the center, and provide the material assistance;teachers teaching development center should optimize the operational system, enrich the content of activities and strengthen the training for center staff;teachers should actively participate in the activities of the center, and consciously improve teaching ability.
