Nowadays, the more development of world economy, the more communication and cooperation among nations. And as the biggest and the strongest developing country, China needs to cultivate those talents who are equipped with both professional knowledge and excellent language ability if it wants to maintain a long-last competitiveness in the International market. So, bilingual education has become one of the effective ways to develop International talents in the world. Bilingual education in primary school is not only the first part of carrying out bilingual teaching, but also an essential part of bilingual teaching research, in that it can help students develop their abilities to learn professional knowledge better for the future.Most of foreign countries have a long history in the bilingual education development and achieve a huge success in cultivating bilingual talents. China has also accomplished the mission of bilingual teaching well by integrating its characteristics into foreigners’teaching experience, even though it hasn’t developed for a long time. But there are still two problems in China’s bilingual education. One is lacking of professional bilingual teachers, and the other one is short of uniform bilingual teaching materials.This paper has been divided into four parts throughout some researching methods, such as documentary method, case analysis method, questionnaire method and so on. Firstly, this paper states the background information and the meaning to the teaching activities of bilingual education by analyzing amounts of bilingual education documents. The development and the situation of bilingual education in China and abroad are included in the first part too. Secondly, depending on the science subject, it puts an emphasis on the characteristic of science bilingual teaching, and analyzes pupils’ cognition traits and preparation for English learning using the knowledge of educational psychology. The third part is the main part which has a practice research of bilingual education on science teaching of primary school. The teaching activities choose the Chinese version of Science Enlightenment as the bilingual teaching material which is the mainstream science teaching one in America. It analyzes the process of science bilingual teaching cases and evaluates the teaching effects by making students to finish kinds of questionnaires. Base on the experimental data, it comes to a conclusion that science bilingual teaching can help students develop their English ability. What’s more, students’ability of learning science will not be influenced by bilingual education. And students can cultivate the thought in English, which may help them live and study better abroad. The last part of the paper is a summary of teaching cases research and propose some suggestions to the problems that lies in bilingual education of China.Based on the teaching cases, this research conforms to the actual teaching situation. But the range and depth in the research of teaching cases is still limited, it needs more researches and exploration.
