With the continuous improvement of the market economy system and the increasing demand of economic society for compound talents, many universities have been promoting educational and teaching reform, some of them are carrying out a reform about complete credit system. As a kind of talent training mode, complete credit system gives students more study freedom, meanwhile, it brings great challenge to teachers. University teachers play an important role in the process of the reform, they are the real practitioner, and their faith and behavior will directly influence students’ study. Currently, the study about complete credit system are mainly based on the perspective of students, rarely involve teachers’ issues, therefore, the thesis discusses the role orientation and role transition of university teachers under complete credit system, and to provide reference for those teachers.The thesis mainly adopts literature research method, comparative method and investigative method. Through analyzing and comparing the university teachers’ typical roles under academic year credit system and complete credit system, the thesis puts forward countermeasures for teachers.This thesis is mainly divided into three parts:The first part explains some related concepts, such as complete credit system, academic year credit system, role orientation, role transition, etc.The second part compares the university teachers’ roles between academic year credit system and complete credit system. Under academic year credit system, the teachers’ roles can be summarized as imparter of knowledge, authority, conservative and stand-by. However, due to the characteristics and demand of complete credit system, the teachers’ roles under this system will be put in the position of organizer of learning, serviceman, cooperator, competitor, instructor of study and demonstrator of virtue.The third part puts forward countermeasures for university teachers. First of all, universities and teachers should deepen their understanding towards complete credit system, and be ready for role transition. Then, they should clarify their responsibilities, and make some strategies for role transition. Last but not least, universities should establish check-up system, through rewarding and punishing to control the process of role transition.The thesis explores the university teachers’ roles under complete credit system, and puts forward countermeasures for universities and teachers. It not only can enlighten researchers to conduct more relevant theoretical studies, but also can provide reference and guidance for university teachers who have to meet the challenge of complete credit system.
