Gratitude is a Chinese traditional virtue, and it is an important category of ethics. Gratitude ethics is a basic ethical issue of human social practice. Our country and the party pay high attention to the problem of impoverished college students. To ensure that every student complete their studies successfully, the government spent a lot of money every year to solve the problems of impoverished students’ learning and life. For the care and help that they have been received from the society, impoverished college students should have been most grateful. However, in reality, we found that some impoverished college students are lack of gratitude ethics. To solve these problems in a timely manner is beneficial to impoverished students’ healthy growth and comprehensive development, and also it is beneficial to the push of educational equity and the construction of a harmonious society.From the perspective of ethics, this thesis integrates literature method, comparison method, case law and other research methods, in order to more fully set forth the problem. The thesis is mainly divided into four parts in the frame structure and the main content. The first part is introduction, mainly introduces the purpose and significance of this topic, research status at home and abroad, the research methods and innovations. The second part mainly introduces the theory introduction of gratitude ethics, including the definition of aided impoverished college students, the meaning of gratitude and gratitude ethics, and the content of aided impoverished college students’ gratitude ethics. The third part mainly elaborates the current of college students’ lack of gratitude ethics, mainly from the following aspects: less gratitude awareness of impoverished college students, lack of gratitude feelings of impoverished college students, insufficient gratitude faith of impoverished college students, and weak gratitude behavior of impoverished college students. Then this thesis makes a deep analysis of the four reasons of the lack of gratitude ethics from society, school, family and oneself. The fourth part is the key chapter of this thesis. In view of the problems and the reasons existing in the third part, this part aims at solving the problem by the following ways: constructing a gratitude system through the efforts of society, strengthening gratitude education by school, family’s influence and enhancing students’ gratitude ethical self-improvement. The joint efforts of these respects would urge the issue of aided impoverished college students to develop in the healthy and harmonious direction, in the hope of achieving personal and social fairness and justice.
