Modern Prose occupy an important position in the junior high school textbooks, and studying modern prose plays an important role for students to develop good language literacy. Reading is an effective method for learning modern prose. In the classroom, the teacher timely and appropriate range of reading, teach students reading skills, not only lead the students into the world of modern art prose, understanding, taste, feel the beauty of modern prose, but also allows students in the process of reading prose reached self-taught, enlighten, sublimation realm.However, in modern prose teaching junior high school, there are teachers despise reading, ignoring range of reading; teaching method is missing a destination guidance, teaching evaluation is too vague; students’ lack of interest in reading, reading is not clear purpose and other issues. The main cause of these problems there are teachers teaching ideas obsolete, lack of professionalism; students read the text conflict, the lack of life experience; teaching curriculum standards teachers superficial research, the text is not thorough research, teaching evaluation and so random.To solve these problems, this study combined with the existing research, propose specific improvement strategies from teaching, teachers and students of the three aspects. Advocating free teaching reading, the overall perception; reading comprehension, to seize the key; scientific appraisal feedback summary. Guide students through the analysis of reading, the United States read, play reading, reading materials, reading and other reading mode carding article structure clues, reproducing characters, taste the language charm, reducing text mood, appreciate the thoughts and feelings; teachers to update prose reading the concept of teaching, emphasis on reading improve their literacy, good extensive reading; enhance the psychological quality of students to consciously dare to read, to reading materials were combined with life experience, to clear the read request, the process of learning to read more.Modern prose reading teaching of junior high school students can not only sense of the phrase, enhance students’ aesthetic taste, to help students understand the text, but also help to active classroom atmosphere. This study seeks to junior status quo modern prose reading teaching to improve the current, past, improve teachers ’chalk and talk’ teaching mode, hoping to carry out these strategies prose reading teaching provide some help for the first-line language teachers.
