With the development of the society and the aging of the population, urban old people who live alone as a social vulnerable groups cause the attention of the whole society. Solitary old man is lost due to death of a spouse, single, divorced, no children or close relatives to accompany the elderly living alone for a long time. Many cities alone the elderly due to eccentric, decreased physical fitness, don’t have my children, family, social tension into the difficulties of feeling lonely. Through to the urban old people who live alone themselves, family ties, community activities, mental comfort issues, the author found that withdrawn character, communication, interpersonal tensions, leisure entertainment is a single, imperfect social policies affect the city the main reason for the old people who live alone mental comfort problems. In the current material life under the condition of meet the basic demand of urban old people who live alone, by developing the elderly education, realize the spiritual culture endowment, and meet the urban old people who live alone, to pleasure and knowledge to study, seek progress of spiritual and cultural needs.The community service center in Henan province, Zhengzhou city X found that during the process of practice in today’s material and cultural life rich, how to meet the urban old people who live alone spiritual comfort is in need of attention problems. The full text mainly divides into four parts. The first chapter includes the research background and significance, literature review at home and abroad, related concepts and theories and research methods. The second chapter, through the questionnaire survey to understand urban old people who live alone: the reason for the existence of the problems facing the spiritual comfort, and the necessity of social workers involved in.
