A Study Of Social Work Intervention On Urban Poverty Family Under The Perspective Of Social Support

In the process of economic system transformed from a planned to a market step by step in our country, institutional reform of state-owned enterprises were in a planned way, a large number of city enterprise employees becomed to be laid-off workers, their family’s income has been hit, plus the price generally rising and the effect of the gap between rich and poor, urban relative poverty problem has becomed worse. Studies have shown that social support network is not sound, which leading to the poor groups too difficult to possess abundant of social resources and social support to against poverty. Social work as a helping and supporting with professional,than is play an important role in the process of helping the families in poverty to improve the social support system.In the H community, Wuhan, Hubei Province, this paper selected the 10 typical families in poverty as the research object, analysis the situation and causes of urban poor family’s social support from two aspects of the formal social support and informal social support. Formal social support includes the social support provided by government, company, community, social organizations, and informal social support includes the social support provided by family, relatives, neighbors, friends and so on. The study found that urban poor family’s social support is commonly insufficient, the formal social support and informal social support are the lack of different level. Based on this, this article selected four typical families in poverty as the service object from the object of study, to conduct the service of social cases work. Services for poor families’ needs and problems, using the professional method of social cases work to involve by the aspects of policy support, material support, flexible employment, life care, social interaction and so on.After the intervention services, the author had evaluated the service of social cases work. First of all, in the aspect of process evaluation,the involved case work’s steps is completed, cohesion in order. Secondly, in the aspect of effect evaluation, the requirements of egotism’s formal and informal social support have been met, the ability of using social support has been improved, the social support system has been sound. Finally, in the aspect of the service object’ satisfaction, the service of involved case work is satisfied in a mass.Through the author’s practice proved that the case social work had intervened to urban poor family’s social support system with material and rational value. Finally, summarized the strategies of social work intervention: respect the dignity of egotism and be individualized, pay attention to energized theory and advantage perspective, collaborative and integration resource. Put forward to build the social support system of urban families in poverty, from the level of government, company, community, social organizations, family, neighborhood and the individual.
