The ordinary high school has formed the scale of development basically and has taken the cultivation of people’s responsibility since 1922 so far. As we all know, we have made great achievements. But the education of ordinary high school has developed into a key period at present. "National long-term education reforms and developmental plans(2010-2012)" in 2010 proposed the popularity of the requirements of the ordinary high school in 2020. It is based on the policy on the education of the ordinary high school reform that is very high, and scholars in the study of ordinary high school both in quantity and quality are greatly improved. 2016 is another key year in the development of ordinary high school, the party put forward in the fifth Plenary Session of the 18 th CPC Central Committee to popularize ordinary high school education, and increase nine years of compulsory education popularization of junior middle school education to twelve years. Then, in this requirement, how to develop the education of ordinary high school and what is the development of Research are problems which are urgently needed to solve. In order to solve the development of ordinary high school, we must ensure the position of the ordinary high school in the education system, and that is the ordinary high school location. Scholars for this problem can be summarized into four kinds of ideas for preparatory university stage, basic education stage, whole personal education and composite development stage. Each view has its rationality and limitations, but the problem of research has not formed a complete theoretical system. This thesis has based on the study of the orientation of running ordinary high school so as to run a good starting point of ordinary high school education and let the ideal high school nearer and nearer.In this paper, the basic theories of the orientation of the ordinary high school are given firstly, and then it analyzes the background and influence of orientation of the ordinary high school from a practical point of view to analyze the problems. Education is a full of hope and an ideal state. What is a good education and what is the ideal expectation of education for the ordinary high school is a starting point for analysis, and it summarizes the various views of the ideal of education, and ensures the use of the concept of social idealism education, the concept of scientific education and humanistic education which are in favor of the orientation of the ordinary high school points. And it identifies three positioning principles through these three kinds of education: mass principle, life principle and individuation principle. Through the ordinary high school of our country’s modern history, we analyze the orientation of running a ordinary high school. Analysis of positioning is not accurate and the implementation effect is not ideal for this paper which provides experience and lessons. The United States is on behalf of the United States of America, and Finland is on behalf of the European and Japan is on behalf of the Asian and China shares cultural foundation. By drawing lessons from other countries experience and we can learn from each other. In the end, we make a ordinary high school as an example to analyze of the problems of orientation of ordinary high school. According to the above research, we come to the conclusion of current orientation of ordinary high school of our country that is the advanced stage of basic education finally.
