Politics class in senior high schools not only educates students’ political theories and social cognition, moreover, it tends to cultivate students’ ideology and morality quality, as well as shoulder the responsibility of educating high-quality comprehensive talents in the new era. Learning motivation, as a nonintellectual factor, plays a significant role in motivating students’ learning behaviors. In recent years, senior high school politics teachers have concerned much about how to stimulate and cultivate high school students’ learning motivation in politics class. However, nowadays, learning motivation in politics class is affected by various factors, for instance, environment, teachers and students themselves. Hence, the lack of learning motivation has a negative influence on teaching effect. Based on relevant motivation theory, the author started from the necessity of stimulating and cultivating high school students’ learning motivation in politics class, combined with the results of research questionnaires, analyzed the influencing factors on learning motivation and proposed corresponding strategies in stimulating and cultivating learning motivation.Based on the Learning Motivation Theory, the study first introduced the necessity of stimulating and cultivating high school students’ learning motivation in politics class. Furthermore, it conducted research via questionnaires on the status quo of students’ learning motivation in politics class of several senior high schools in Huaibei. According to the analysis of survey results, a couple of problems in senior high school students’ learning motivation in politics class at the present stage were summarized as follows: lack of learning motivation, low learning interest, undefined learning goals and plans. External factors occupied the dominant position. The problems mentioned above caused the teaching effects in politics not obvious. In the meanwhile, the author made in-depth analysis on the reason of high school students’ low learning motivation in politics class from both subjective and objective factors based on the survey of questionnaire. The author found that teachers’ self-quality and teaching activities had relatively more influence on stimulating students’ learning motivation. Last but not the least, combining the reasons mentioned above, survey of questionnaire with observation on teaching activity, this study analyzed the corresponding strategies in stimulating and cultivating senior high students’ learning motivation in politics class. Any change in actions lies primarily on change in ideology. It is necessary to make ideas from students, schools, teachers, parents and the society being transformed, and strengthen the emphasis on politics class. Since students are the subjects of learning, improving the sense of self-efficacy makes it easier to stimulate learning motivation. To some extent, innocuous teaching contents consume students’ learning interest. So it is necessary to make contact with social reality and use textbooks flexibly. Teachers themselves and their class activities have a huge influence on students; hence, the innovation of teaching method should be proceeded with promotion of teachers’ overall quality. Educational evaluation mechanism deeply rooted in the influence on students, so in the conclusion part of this study, the author expressed views on promoting quality-oriented education, persevering in multi-assessment in order to fundamentally stimulate and cultivate students’ learning motivation in politics class and change the present situation of the inefficiency of teaching effect in traditional politics class.
