The concept of "effective teaching" was introduced into our country in the late 1990 s.Under the background of basic education curriculum reform, "effective classroom" arises at the historic moment. It is not only the extension and upgrade of "effective teaching", and it is a more modern idea of Chinese curriculum reform with the localization(Long Baoxin, Sun Feng, 2014). Research data showed that there were 280 million children in China, but rural children made up 58%(The research report of China women’s federation in 2013). Therefore, according to the relevant provisions of compulsory education, rural basic education is supposed to be taken seriously.Combing the references which were found that in the rural English classroom teachers always took the traditional teaching method,and the teachers were treated as the center and paid close attention to language knowledge and skills. However, effective classroom is to focus on the students’ comprehensive language application abilities, at the same time, established the student-centered teaching mode. The compulsory education English curriculum standards(2011 edition) refers the five dimensional targets to introduce the comprehensive language using ability that include not only the traditional teaching method but also learning strategies and cultural awareness and emotional attitude. Therefore, the research aim of this paper used five dimensional targets for the contents of the questionnaire, can not only test the effectiveness of the effective classroom, also investigate the differences and relationships between the effective classroom and traditional teaching method.On the basis of Dulangkou "336" autonomous learning mode and combining with Y school own situation after three years to form the effective classroom mode- "three stages and seven steps" whose purpose is used to solve the problem that Y school long-term uses of traditional teaching method and does not pay attention to cultivate students’ comprehensive ability.The paper mainly discusses three aspects: First is the meaning of effective classroom schools in rural areas to promote. Second is the compulsory education English curriculum standards(2011 edition), based on that five dimensions to test Y school’s English effective classroom implementation. Third is searching some advises and solutions for Y school’s English effective classroom. According to the practical investigation and research shows that: First, effective classroom research significance for schools in rural areas is worth popularizing for reference. Second, five targets in Y school’s English effective classroom can carry out well. Third, teachers are the keys to reform. In the teaching method, combining the traditional teaching method with the effective classroom can solve the existing contradictions.The paper consists of five parts, the first chapter is introduction that introduces the research reasons, research purpose and meaning of the effective classroom in rural areas and the research idea of this paper. The second chapter is literature review, the concept of effective classroom, generalizes the theoretical basis and research status. The third chapter introduces the research questions, the research background, research methods, and research objects and survey tools. The fourth chapter is the results of the study and analysis. This part introduces the student questionnaire results and analysis, teacher questionnaire and analysis, the teachers and students interview results and analysis, and finally elaborates the research achievements and the existing problems. The last part is the full text that includes the recommendations to improve the countryside junior middle school English classroom level, the characteristics of this research, and the deficiency of this study.In this paper effective classroom will research into the rural areas of English classroom from both students and teachers, and the research results can play the role of a topic for research, and I hope to provide some help for most of rural teachers and the teaching researchers to further exploration and research work in English class that is the purpose and meaning of this study.
