Mental health education is facing severe test with the psychological problems of college students increasing day by day. The key to break through the bottleneck is searching a way to get out of the predicament and choosing a suitable way for mental health education for them. Contemporary college students are living under the native cultural background, the mental health education for them should be based on Chinese cultural root. It won’t be a bad choice to analyze thoroughly combining current actual situation and traditional cultural essence. Our traditional culture is the wisdom crystallization of Chinese nation for 5 thousand years and it will be continuously passed down generation by generation. Hehe Culture, as the heart of Chinese traditional culture, includes every aspect of mental health education for college students. It shows the direction of mental health education for college students as well as contains abundant content about the education, which helps us to realize the college students’ psychological health education and construct the education system. Therefore, during the implementing of mental health education for college students, we should analyze the problems and shortcomings, find out the reasons and solve them according to Hehe Culture reasonably to make up the deficiency. Implementing Hehe Culture is very important in the mental health education.This thesis is based on researching the background and meaning, systematically reviews current domestic and international research status, introduces research methods and innovations. The thesis analyzes the connotation of mental health education for college students and Chinese traditional Hehe Culture, interprets the theory of harmony between nature and human, pursuing neutralization, harmony is most precious, and harmony without uniformity, states the basic features of mental health education for college students and Chinese traditional Hehe Culture and states the relations between them. The thesis analyzes in-depth the value of the four ideas of Chinese traditional Hehe Culture, “harmony between nature and human”, “pursuing neutralization”, “harmony is most precious”, and “harmony without uniformity”, in mental health education for college students. In the research, we found the value of Hehe Culture in mental health education for college students is all around. It is necessary and feasible to plant the mental health education for college students in Hehe Culture. However, from the view of Hehe Culture, there are some problems and shortcomings in mental health education. The thesis analyzes the problems and shortcomings. Not fully meet social need, not enough connection with culture soil, educators deviation of conception and so on are main reasons to the problems and shortcomings. In addition, the thesis explains the method of implementing Hehe Culture in mental health education for college students. The value of Hehe Culture in mental health education for college students is a kind of potential value, which needs suitable education method and appropriate education carrier. This requires us to coordinate in various aspects, fulfill the mental health education target based on Hehe Culture, utilize Hehe Culture as a guidance of the education method, and enrich the education channels by the background of Hehe Culture.
