"People-oriented" is the core connotation of Scientific Outlook on Developme nt, and the core concept of geographical teaching in the new curriculum standard. The teaching concept of "People-oriented" is important modern educational thoug ht, which pays more attention on emotional teaching, respecting for the dominant position of students and cultivating interests in learning. And then it can promote the all-round development of students. Teachers should insist the geographical tea ching concept of "People-oriented", it will be of great practical and theoretical sig nificance that applying it to each link of the process of geographical teaching, an d practicing it in the geographical teaching. So how to practice the teaching conc ept of "People-oriented" on the real significance and promote the all-round develo pment of students? I think, it should integrate theory with students’ acts, and for t he purpose of improving the students’ geographical consciousness and solving geo graphical problems. It should cultivate students’ interests in learning from respectin g for the dominant position of students to promote the all-round development of s tudents and achieve the goal of "people-oriented" teaching,Based on the developm ent of local geography teaching resources, contact the local practical students to c ultivate students’ interest in learning geography.Development of the local geograph y course resources is extremely important, which is mainly for the development o f the student’s own, is composed of students purely theoretical knowledge of the study change for students learning theory and practice of combining the education process. On the one hand, let students in the learning process of natural and hu man knowledge can observe from their surrounding, the formation of his deep un derstanding of geography, foster civic awareness, and to develop their own world view, life view.On the other hand, it also improves the students’ learning interest, cultivate the comprehensive application ability of geography, so as to know their hometown, love their hometown, and integrate into the society.
