Quality education is the main direction and ultimate goal of the reform of physical ed ucation in our country, but since the long- term entrance examination system is implement ed, the majority of students are forced into the "exam oriented education" circle. In this con text, China’s primary and middle school students’ physical health status continues decline. Facing of this worrying situation, The Ministry of Education(the former National Educatio n Commission) issued a policy of the entrance exam of middle school physical education i n 1997. The “Work Plan for Junior High School Graduate Entering PE Exam” greatly prom oted the development of physical education and sports discipline in China. But the quality education and the continuous implementation of the reform of education have also put for ward new requirements to the physical examination system. The implementation of physic al examination for more than 20 years in Suzhou city, the project setting, scoring standards of the sports exam are constantly improving. Sports exam promotes the development of sch ool sports. It also improves the students’ participation in sports training.In this paper, we studied the impact of the implementation of Suzhou City Sports in the examination for junior high school using questionnaires, interviews and other methods, investigating graduates, physical education teachers from 6 high school of Suzhou City for the survey. The results showed that physical exercise for students and lifelong sports consciousness had a certain impact. The physical impact on students is not obvious. At the same time, there are not enough high school sports teachers in Suzhou City. There are also some problems such as faculty shortage, simplex of teaching methods and contents, unappreciable process operability and etc. To solve these problems, the author puts forward to improve the professional level of physical education teachers, strengthen the sports test system and its significance, train students’ lifelong sports consciousness, improve the evaluation methods and project settings. In order to balance the relationship between physical education and school sports, to improve the quality of physical education, and to improve the students’ physical health level.
