Aesthetic education is an indispensable part of education activity as well as one of important issues on education and aesthetics. China witnessed the rejuvenation of aesthetic education in the 1980s after more than a decade of stagnation. The rejuvenation built on aesthetic education theory and cumulative experience can be divided in terms of time into profound accumulation of classical aesthetic theory, interpretation for aesthetic education ideology during modern times, the experience of aesthetic education since the founding of new China. On this basis, the aesthetic education in our country develops from two aspects:the theoretical construction and practice on aesthetic education.The aesthetic education is drawing increasing attention by the public with the third aesthetics booming. With the guidance of the aesthetics, the aesthetic theory construction is reflected from three dimensions:flourishing aesthetic education theory, rising aesthetic education status, booming construction. The development of the aesthetic education theory focuses on elucidating the of Chinese and Western aesthetic education theory, summarization of the aesthetic education theory, establishment of the aesthetic education in the 1980s. The relevant regulations on aesthetic education in the administrative rules and strengthening awareness of aesthetic education show the rising status of the aesthetic education; The academic stronghold of the aesthetic education is expanding from the issuing the journal of "aesthetic education" in the 1980 s.The aesthetic education practice can be regarded as a demand for emancipation. Under the guidance of the policies on the aesthetic education, class hour of the aesthetic education is increasing, and aesthetic education courses are deviating towards art education, which suggests the direction of the aesthetic education but tendency towards equating the education in two fields. In order to correct the deviation, aesthetic education experiments were conducted by great minds, which lead the aesthetic education to develop in an appropriate way.Having clarifying the theory and practice, the aesthetic education in the 1980s is analyzed objectively in positive influence and limits and used for seeking a breakthrough. The research has a significant influence on study on the aesthetic education in the 1980s. The thesis aims to clarify the aesthetic education during the period and offer clues for the future study on the aesthetic education.
