In the age of information, there are still many highlighting problems in the basic teaching in colleges and universities: First,Different professions’ training objectives and training modes are not clear;Secondly, Some universities’ hours arrangements for basic education disciplines are unreasonable, which most of them even do not pay attention to;Thirdly, Teachers strength is Weak, teacher-student ratio imbalance results in many teachers’ lack of good teaching design;Forth, A lot of universities pay most attention to doing researches but not to teaching, which leading to a series of problems that prevent the students to get a good education and finaly running counter to the original intention of Undergraduate Education. The appearance of SPOCs takes hopes to so many colleges and universities. The application of the model has had a good effect to the education teaching of many colleges and universities, but there are still some problems can not be ignored. In this study, the ways of literature analysis, experimental research, case studies, questionnaire surveys, interview surveys and others are used. We propose association doctrine, zone of proximal development theory and outcome-oriented evaluation model to support the problem-oriented courses design of SPOCs. The association emphasizes the concept of e-learning and focus on the nodes’ design for the students’ learning process so as to guide students to learn by the convergence of online and offline; zone of proximal development theory emphasizes the difficulty which can be set correctly of the problem; outcome-oriented evaluation methods are more concerned about the social requirements for graduates, which can feedback and adjust the whole teaching process. With the above theory in the study,a problem-oriented course design of the Fundamental s of computers in S university in Sichuan Province are designed and it is carried out with 6153 freshmen of Grade 2015 in this university. Through the analysis of questionnaires, interviews of the students and teachers as well as the records of Flanders classroom interaction analysis system, it proves that the instructional design can attract more students to participate in learning activities, improve students’ innovation ability and finally have a good effect on solving the universities’ problems in basic education.
