Vocabulary, as the basic of knowledge of English, is the most important factor to restrict the efficiency of learning English.Wilkins pointed out more insightfully without grammar very little can be conveyed. Without vocabulary nothing can be conveyed.Vocabulary as the basic material of constituting the language and one of the foundations of English teaching is not only a key but also a difficulty of primary school English teaching.Through classroom, questionnaires, interviews and other forms of research, we found that the current primary school English vocabulary teaching is not optimistic. the research according to the theory of constructivism,the theory of second language acquisition,emotional psychology theory and the theory of children’s cognitive development,with primary school English vocabulary,teaching practice and accumulated good experience of most teachers,adopt the way of various teaching model elements in the teaching theory,built a primary school English vocabulary context teaching.In chapter one, the writer first elaborates the necessity of the study, namely the practical significance.next, the writer completely introduces the present situation on the vocabulary research at home and abroad. In China,there have been many people engaged in studying vocabulary.however, their objects of their study are mainly aimed at the primary school students who are studying English.In chapter two is analysis of the present situation of primary school English vocabulary,and the attribution analysis of the problems. Chapter four and chapter five are the main part of the thesis.the writer had a few interviews with the English teachers and knew that they usually teach the words in a traditional way.also,the writer had several interviews with some students and knew about how they are getting on their English and their trouble with English.The result shows that various teaching vocabulary ways can really increase the efficiencies of the English class. It is also very good for students to memorize words easily. And it is good for students to keep the enthusiasm for English studying, interest in studying English and confidence in studying English.so various teaching vocabularyways are valuable to be spread in the rural primary school whose students have never studied English.
