The object of this paper is the military academies. The subject of this research is construction of martial arts fighting courses in military academies. Martial fighting is a comprehensive combination of fighting techniques including kicking, hitting, throwing and taking, which is an interpretation of the Chinese martial arts and traditional culture inherited and improved with thousands of years of history. To improve the teaching of martial arts fighting is not only a way to inherit and develop the traditional cultural but also an effective measure to develop the actual fighting ability of the students of military academies.This paper is based on extensive research, using a variety of research methods including literature information method, questionnaire survey method, teaching experiment method,Delphi method, logical analysis method and mathematical statistics and etc. 300 questionnaires for students and 20 questionnaires for military instructors are conducted among four colleges including Shijiazhuang Ordnance Engineering College, Shijiazhuang Army Command College, Shijiazhuang Mechanized Infantry College and Shijiazhuang Armored Forces College. Meanwhile, teaching experiment of martial arts fighting course is conducted in Shijiazhuang Ordnance Engineering College. This paper makes an analysis of the current situation and existing problems of martial arts fighting course in military colleges and develops a program of teaching martial arts fighting in military College, which provides theoretical reference and practical guidance for scientific, systematic and standardized martial arts teaching in military academies.Conclusions are as follows:1. The current situation of martial arts fighting curriculum in military Colleges is not optimistic. Military colleges are lack of relatively perfect teaching and evaluation systems for the teaching of martial arts fighting. Most of the students did not come into contact with martial arts fighting exercises. Teaching sites and equipment can basically meet the needs but faculty is somewhat lacking.2. The awareness of students and military instructors for martial arts fighting arerelatively low. The majority of the students and military instructor don’t have a good understanding of characteristics and practical affect of the martial arts fighting. But they are willing to accept the course and think that they can effectively improve the actual fighting ability by martial course and develop the comprehensive military ability, especially the actual fighting ability and the willpower.3. The construction of martial arts fighting System in military colleges are proposed related to existing problems of martial arts fighting course in military colleges :(1) Theoretical basis: The background of “Strong Army Dream” provides a political support for this research, and strengthening the military teaching system of military academies is an important part of strengthening the students’ comprehensive military ability.(2) Constructive target: Based on The PLA Standard on Physical Fitness of Servicemen,the constructive target focuses on training students’ practical combat ability, which is the main target of the course, and establishes specific objective guidelines.(3) Content of Courses: To give priority to students’ ability of actual combat, combine the reality of military academies and characteristics of martial arts fighting, and build a martial teaching content to meet the military academy’s teaching. The construction of teaching content can be divided into two parts of theoretical and technical construction contents.Theoretical content mainly includes the cultivation of martial arts’ cultural morality and military accomplishment, and the analysis of the technical characteristics and motion styles;technical content mainly includes the screening of martial technology, which selects the technical movements accepted by students and effectively develops the students’ ability of actual combat.(4) Implementation of teaching: To establish perfect playing field equipments and other hardware facilities to ensure the smooth progress of teaching. In the teaching process,cultivating students should be the premise, and minimize the incidence of objective factors that will affect the students’ study.(5) Teaching evaluation: Regularly organize the training of teachers and evaluate their professional teaching skills by an evaluation system of self-reflection as the core and outside intervention to complement; to formulate a corresponding system of rewards and punishmentbased on the students’ evaluations, completion of skills, actual combat tests and the mastery of theoretical knowledge.
