Research Of Primary School Chorus Teaching

Primary school chorus teaching is a significant part of basic music education. The Music Curriculum Standard in Full-time Compulsory Education of 2011 noted that singing is the basic content of primary music teaching, chorus teaching should be strengthened to help students feel the rich expression of polyphonic music and develop their collective consciousness and coordination skills.The chorus teaching ideas have been updating with the development and perfection of music education in our country. Primary schools have set the chorus classes in out-school music learning ways. The Third Branch of Baoding BGP Central School is the practice place that the author has been intern teacher for three years during her study of Master of Rural Education period. Three years’ teaching experience has provided good practical basis for the research of this paper. According to students’ physical and mental growth in different ages and their psychological difference in music learning, the author takes her practice school as example to do a study of stages teaching in primary schools’ chorus teaching.Lower section choir class is formed by students in grade one and grade two, this kind of class is drived by interest-based teaching. Teacher shows students vivid chorus by music props and activities. The main way of thinking in this age is imaginal, unconscious attention plays a dominant role in these students’ attention. So the lower section choir class focus on students’ participation to motivate the music potency, get cor-performance experience and improve music aesthetics during the chorus learning.The main force of primary school chorus are the students whose abilities of abstract memory and imagination have improved in grade three to grade five. These ages students have gained quite good perception and judement for elegant characters of music. However, they still have different musical accomplishment because of various living conditions. Therefore, the chorus teaching for them has to pay more attention to the training of children’s choir skill under specific situations. The thing which needs to be emphasized is that on account of higher grades students’ improving understanding abilities, they have their own cognition of music, so teachers should choose appropriate textbooks for their music classes. The goal of chorus teaching is to keep bringing forth new ideas to present the beauty trend of the times on the premise of respecting the classics.
