Mathematical thoughts are the recognition of the essence of mathematical knowledge and methods, while mathematical methods are the way to solve math problems and to reflect mathematical thoughts. Learning and mastering mathematical thoughts and methods is not only instructive to studying mathematics, but also beneficial to the growth of the intelligence and non-intelligence factors of the students. They would use a mathematical way of thinking to discover, analyze and solve problems in future life and work.With the popularization and implementation of the new curriculum, the importance of teaching mathematical thoughts and methods in class is becoming increasingly prominent.However, with the influence of the traditional teaching model and thought of high school mathematics teachers, it is not desirable for spreading mathematical thoughts and methods in class.The classification of mathematical thoughts and methods and the relationship between thoughts and methods are introduced firstly, as well as a summary of the four common ways in textbooks. Secondly, some teaching principles and effective teaching approaches are proposed for the inadequate attentions paid in classroom teaching. Meanwhile, the ways to permeating mathematical thoughts and methods are indicated through the segments of classroom teaching. Thirdly, the approaches for teaching are again emphasized combined with case studies. Finally, statements on the problems of cultivating individual quality and innovation ability are made.The results show that, there is still a long way to go for the permeation of mathematical way of thinking, Teachers should pay attention to permeate the mathematical thoughts and methods in the process of the formation of new knowledge, And master the principle and strategy of permeation, Really put the teaching with mathematical thoughts and methods into the classroom teaching.
