| Society is developing and improving and times is always changing. People’s basic necessities of life have undergone tremendous changes. As a fundamental strategy of the country, education reform is inevitable to adapt to the social development. Abroad education reform emerges in an endless stream. China also has started a new wave of high school curriculum revolution since 2004. Shanxi province joined in 2008. Numerous schools of Shanxi province take an active part in the new curriculum reform. These researches involve the reforms of course aims, content, instructional models, instructional evaluation and so on. In the progress, we have achieved amounts of practical results, but we still have a lot of inadequacies and there remains much scope for improvement.This research is based on a new instructional model:"three instructional roles and four teaching steps " which is exercising in Xiaoyi high school. This research focuses on the practical application of this instructional model in biology teaching in high school. The "three instructional roles" refer to a learning plan as a thread, students as the main bodies and a teacher as a facilitator. The "four teaching steps " means leading the learning goals, students’inquiry leaning, standard evaluation and extension. In this model, students are treated as the center of teaching activities and it emphasizes that students take the initiative to acquire knowledge. As a teaching activity guide, the teacher leaves more time and space to students and promote students’ independent learning and cooperative inquiry in the premise of ensuring that teaching activities are able to be completed. "Three instructional roles and four teaching steps " abandons the traditional instructional model "chalk and talk" and students can reach their full subjective initiative. It promotes the Interactive communication among the students and between students and teachers. The application of this model not only enrich and refine the theory about the classroom teaching model under the national new curriculum, but also provide practical reference for promoting the new curriculum reform in Shanxi province.This study uses literature survey to have a comprehensive understanding of the current situation of domestic and foreign curriculum revolution and organize relevant theory foundation for the "three instructional roles and four teaching steps ". Then I use the experiment inquiry method. I set one experimental group and two control groups respectively in the regular classes and excellent classes. The experiment groups adopt the "three instructional roles and four teaching steps "model and the control groups adopt the traditional instructional model for a full semester. Finally, through a questionnaire and mid-term exam and final exam, it aims to understand the effect of this model to the biological study interest, independent learning ability, cooperative inquiry ability and biological exam results. According to the survey results and student achievement we can get the corresponding conclusion. Over the course of the study, it exposed some problems and deficiencies. I will continue to make it better. |
