The three-dimensional objective of new-concept Geography requires organic integration of knowledge, skills and emotions to realize the inheritance of knowledge, innovation in method, and the improvement of study ability and values. Practical study activity is the helpful method to integrate the three elements. Geography practical study is helpful to comprehensively realize the three-dimensional objective of Geography education, deepen the student’s comprehension on knowledge, cultivate their practice ability, sublime their emotional attitude, and at the same time, meet the requirements for exploring practical subjects constantly increasing in examination.Geography practical study is a teaching mode in which the students voluntarily discover and verify Geography knowledge in practice with the students as the main body under the design and guidance by teachers. Geography practical study is not only the extension of class teaching, but also a practical activity under a theoretical direction outside classroom;The use condition of the Geography practical study by the Geography teacher and the problems in the study have been analyzed in the thesis, by way of teaching-learning feedback, interview on the Geography teacher and network investigation, and based on the interview and practical experience, the strategy has also been proposed for Geography practical study. The thesis specifically includes the following parts:The first part introduces and summarizes the research background of Geography practical study, the deep implementation of new curriculum reform, the change in traditional; Geography teaching and examination method, the teaching and educational significance of practical study, and the research status and method at home and abroad.The second part focuses on the definition and theoretical basis of Geography practical study in high school. The study model has the students as the main body and allows them to discover and verify Geography knowledge in practice. The mode can be classified into many types according to different sites, objectives and patterns. They can gain experience from practical study, bring into full play their initiative, mobilize their learning desire, and build psychological theory foundation.The third part mainly explores the characteristics and contents of the subject of physical Geography from macro to micro in the teaching materials used by the students in Shandong Province. The material has a wide space, close time continuity and procedure, and high difficulty, and the subject of physical Geography has a nature of fundamentality, in addition, analysis by example is also covered in each unit, according to the teaching theory and unit content arrangement.In the fourth part, the learning status of the subject in high school has been analyzed from the perspective of the teachers by way of investigation and interview.In summary, the practical study of the subject is facing such problems as the inadequate control in organization and innovative design in practice contents, small frequency of practice activities, insufficient resource and time, heavy mental load and pessimistic adoption attitude.The strategy in high school practical study of the subject of physical Geography have been explored in the fifth part. In view of these problems, the following strategies have also been proposed:strengthen effective control over practical study, put more efforts to elaborate design on practice activities, strengthen the teachers’ professional quality and practice ability in the subject of Geography, promote teaching resource sharing, and take timely conclusion and reflection.In the sixth part, According to the above problems and solving measures, the implementation of geography practical learning is demonstrated through case study.The major content and deficiency of the research is summarized in the part of conclusion; and by looking forward the future of Geography practical study, it is believed that the teaching mode will achieve better and better teaching effects. |
