A famous quote from Spencer, "education is to prepare for the perfect life" 。the ultimate goal of education is to promote the development of people. According to the basic education curriculum reform program of China, the education department highlights the students’ development, with the emphasis on the creation of innovative spirit and practical ability. It can stimulate students’ initiative participation in educational environment, and guide students to question, investigate, explore and solve problems, so as to develop students’ thinking quality.Under the background of the current curriculum reform, how to establish an effective model for the teachers and students in our school is the main task of this research. One-year-long teaching which is adapted to the level of the students in our school has been carried out.During this teaching practice,we have explored a teaching mode,named“problem based teaching”.We adapt action research in the present paper,(1) Through literature review, the definition, classification and characteristic of problem based learning are summarized, and dig the relevant theoretical background to provide theoretical foundation for this paper.(2) Through solid the questionnaire survey,the problems existing in the geography classes are discovered.Based on the discovered problem, some teaching strategies are put forward.(3) Through the education experiment,we have carried out the teaching mode in the experimental class for one year.In the experiment,we observe the change of the students in learning via questionnaire survey,for example independent learning, cooperative learning ability, questioning,probing into the problems and solving the problems. At the same time, through analysis their scores in exams,we obtained the fact that,the experimental class is far better than other classes. obtained the experimental classes and control classes grades have greatly improved.(4) According to the teaching practice,we summarize the process of conducting :preview —cooperate and exchange —Consolidation and migration.Then,we also Summed up in the success and shortcomings.the problem based conducting is a new way of teaching in our school, it pays attention to the all-round development of students, but also to promote the professional development of teachers.
