Since 2001, curriculum reform has been piloted and then promoted nationwide in China. In recent years, with the speeding up and increasing scale of curriculum reform, more and more people began to pay attention to the art education development of primary schools in ethnic regions. Based on the local rich culture and the arts full of regional characteristics, Miao primary school actively exploits and applies various art curriculum resources suitable for school and students’ development to its art classroom teaching, which not only serves as a impetus for the art curriculum reform of primary schools in ethnic regions but also promotes the development and prosperity of art education in ethnic regions. Based on a case study, this paper takes a month investigation on current situation of local art curriculum resource development of Miao A primary school. During the survey, interviews and observation, combined with theoretical and literature research etc. are used to analyze the reasons for their insufficiency and then appropriate suggestions will be proposed.It aims to give some suggestion to the case analysis of primary school teaching in effective developing and rational usage of Local art curriculum resources. Meanwhile, it provides an indicative blueprint for primary education reform in developing of curriculum resources.This paper is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is an introduction. This chapter introduces the rationale, purpose, and objects of this study and defines some key concepts. Combing previous domestic and overseas research and under the premise of relevant theories home and abroad on curriculum resources, this chapter explains explicitly the research methods chosen. The second chapter is an overview. On the basis of review of relevant literature, this chapter, combining with the research idea, explores and concludes the principles and theories that should be followed in the exploitation of local art curriculum resource in Miao primary school. The third chapter is the body of this paper, focusing on the detailed in-depth investigation on the current situation of native arts curriculum resource development of Case A primary school in Fenghuang Alaying town, Hunan province. Basing on interviews with the investigation of case A primary school, this chapter sorts out the content of interviews. On the basis of the survey, this chapter analyzes the problems of the art curriculum resource development of A primary school. Chapter four is the end of this paper, proposing countermeasures for the art curriculum resource development in A primary school.
