Mathematical ability is a kind of psychological characteristic of personality which can finish the math activities successfully, It affects directly the efficiency of activities and learning of math is good or bad, and the mathematical operation ability is one of the most basic mathematical abilities, which asked the students need master,and it is also a key factor than influences students’ learning achievement.Therefore,cultivating and improving the operation ability of students can not only improve students’ learning of mathematics,but can also develop their logic and ways of thinking so as to lay a good foundation for their own all-round development.The circumstances of math papers and homework in internship school have been observed by the author, and it turned out to be poor math ability of the students. Therefore, it’s necessary to provide a better understanding of students’ math ability, so that teachers can proceed better teaching and rapidly improve math ability of students. The author analyzed factors that have an influence on math ability by studying theories and research of math ability from domestic countries and foreign countries, and then combining with the reality of students in internship school. The author also had interviews with teachers who work in the internship school. In order to find update data for present situation of further investigation and get more familiar with the attitudes of students towards their math ability, the author conducted a questionnaire survey with part of grade-one students. Besides, the author prepared some test papers for grade-one students from three classes, testing their math ability. Refer to the results, the author analyzed students’ faults and shortcomings in math ability and put forward countermeasures for solving problems.The investigation of math ability showed that 46% of the students did not meet the minimum standards.It’s 60% that the scores less than 70, more than half,therefore,the level of development of students’ mathematical ability is not high.On average,average score of boys than girls 6.07 points higher,visible,boys than girls in the mathematical ability mathematical operation ability.Therefore,the overall situation is not satisfying, and male students can do better than female students. Big difference exits between classes, that is to say, some students can master it flexibly, while the other ones can hardly grasp, even know little about that.It’s not high that the students’ mathematical ability level,mainly in the following aspects:1,It’s not strong that the students’ ability of mining title information,most of the students only see explicit information,often can not find the information implied in the title,which leads to the problem were not solved completely,the students only find in part of the mining information,can not find a full,also said the students not taken into consideration in the title,leading to get out;2,In the use of formula,theorem,law etc.It’s fuzzy of memory that in the formula of students,some students did not remember the correct formulas,rules,so making formula phenomenon in the title,which leads to the students’ ability to use formula,theorem,law is not strong;3,Students in the choice of simple operation way is not very strong,for a variety of solutions to problems,most students can only be found in comparison with conventional method, and not to seek simple operation way,resulting in the solving speed is not high;4,The ability to estimate are not very strong,in the papers the fifth questions,most of the students can correctly estimate the log,which leads to the error calculation.Through the observation of the students’ test papers were found,the students did not finish them after the inspection habits,writing is not standardized,often lost,by a careless,some students even will go wrong IN the most simple numerical arithmetic.
