Recently, Mandarin fever throughout the world continues to warm. In Thailand, elementary school, secondary school and the college all open the course of Chinese Mandarin. And most students start to learn Chinese at a younger age. This kind of younger- age trend provides both opportunities and new challenges to Chinese teaching.Scholars should pay more attention to studies on how to teach foreign students who at a younger age to learn Chinese. Taking advantage of being a Chinese teacher in Confucius Institute of Betong, the present author gets to know the current situation of Thai children’s Chinese teaching. Based on concrete classroom game teaching cases given by Confucius Institute of Betong and Thai children’s psychological characteristics in Chinese learning, the present author, by applying game teaching in classes, attempts to improve their motivation of learning and to help them overcome some psychological health problems such as being shy and fear of difficulty, which is in order to make them learn Chinese effectively, happily and continuously. The present author hopes to offer some good strategies and methods for Thai children‘s Chinese teaching.This paper consists five chapters. Chapter one is a brief introduction, illustrating the background, purposes, methodology and the significance of the paper. Then in the second chapter, the author reviews relevant literatures, sorting out the current situations in this field. Chapter three introduces Thai children’s Chinese teaching and discusses the classroom game teaching in Thailand. In the forth chapter, the present paper designs a questionnaire about the students’ feedback to game teaching, which is to know the points which teachers should pay attention to in class. And the last chapter is a summary. The author hopes this study can offer some suggestions for Chinese teachers who will go to Thailand later to teach children to study Chinese.
