Lu Xun’s view on children is an important research topic, though many people have undertaken interpretation from different perspectives in their own field of study and have achieved fruitful results, few of them takes insight into Lu Xun’s view on children from the perspective of “game spirit”. “Game is the way of children’s existence”“Game is the way of existence of children’s education”, the physical and mental development of children and game have been receiving attention from people, and game spirit is the abstracted sublimation of the essential connotation of substantive game activities, also it is where its charm lays by drawing people to become involved in game, moreover, it is the integration of game spirit makes education exist as the way of game. In fact, Lu Xun’s view on children permeated with the emphasis on game spirit, which can be proved in a number of literary works of Lu Xun. Lu Xun celebrates the game spirit of children in his works. Due to the limited field of view, the author mainly comes out with several game spirits such as freedom and body, equality and harmony, dialogue and cooperation, imagination and creativity, joy and experience.This paper undertakes processing and analyzing on an amount of first hand information by collecting literature and translated works of Lu Xun which center on game spirit. By doing studies on Lu Xun’s view of children from the perspective of game spirit, the author wishes to further deepen and explore Lu Xun’s view on children in terms of theory, thus to let people perceive a more comprehensive understanding towards Lu Xun’s view on children and at the same time to provide inspiration for enriching the game spirit of education from a new angle.This paper consists of the introduction, the main body and conclusion. The introduction briefly discusses the origin, purpose and significance as well as methods of the research. There are four chapters in the body part: The first chapter is about the definition of the concept as well as research on theoretical support of Lu Xun’s view on children from the perspective of game spirit, this chapter specifically elaborates the content of “game spirit” of each school. The second chapter is the interpretation on content of Lu Xun’s view on children from the perspective of “game spirit”, it specifically explores the game spirit which is embodied in literary works of Lu Xun. The third chapter focuses on Lu Xun’s view on children under the background of the New Culture Movement, specifically studies the effect of individualism and humanism posed on the “children’s scovery” under the "New Culture Movement" historical context. The conclusion part reveals implications for current children education, which includes enlightenment and reference for philosophy of children education, teaching methods as well as teacher-student relationship.
