Core strength training is a new research subject in recent years of strength training at home and abroad, which is first used in the medical rehabilitation and fitness training. In the early 1990 s, foreign scholars and coaches gradually realized the importance of the deep torso muscles and small muscle groups and it led to a study wave of trunk muscles among scholars and coaches. Then they proposed the core strength training theory which was later added to competitive sports training. As one of test items in high school sports, throwing solid ball makes coordination, waist and abdominal strength in one. It plays an important role in training students in the upper body strength and improving students’ physical fitness. Teen body is a comprehensive foundation stage, continuous core strength training at this stage can effectively improve the students’ physical qualities.By using literature, expert interviews, questionnaires, mathematical statistics, experimental method, this paper tests and analyzes the performance of junior high school students in their solid sphere training. Taking the Hunan Hengdong Metropolis 60 third grade high school students in the class as experimental subjects, and divide them into experimental and control groups according to the test results before the experiment. Throughout the experiment, the experimental group introduced core strength training. After 16 weeks of experimental training,it tests the throwing for two indicators reflect the core strength of the project, the four indicators of special abilities and place your hands before and after the first results were solid ball throwing test. Then analyzed and discussed the research finding and came to the following conclusions:1. After 16 weeks of training, by comparing the special index data of the experimental group after the experiment, it is found that the scores of the four evaluation indexes all showed P<0.05 significant difference. This indicates that core strength training can enable muscles of the whole body to maintain a relatively balanced development, which is reflected in the fact that the scores of the four indexes were raised substantially and the experiment achieved obvious training effect.2. By comparing the special index data in the control group after the experiment, it is found that only the score of standing long jump showed P<0.05 significant difference among the four evaluation indexes before and after the experiment. This is because traditional strength training includes targeted training movements of lower limbs strength, leg strength after the training can be increased significantly and the score of standing long jump can be raised.3. By comparing the special index data in the control group and the experimental group after the experiment, it is found that there is no significant difference between the two groups. Standing long jump reflects the explosive force of human lower limbs and belongs to short explosive item. Although core strength training can achieve certain effects, it cannot exert significant positive impact on the explosive force of the larger muscle groups of lower limbs in the short term.4. After introducing 16 consecutive weeks of core strength training, scores of three evaluation indexes in the experimental group are better than that of the control group, with the correlation data displaying P<0.05, which suggests that core strength training can improve junior high school students’ scores of throwing solid ball with hands putting behind the head, and it can achieve better effect in improving students’ performance than traditional strength training.5. Core strength training could not be a substitute for traditional strength training in routine training of high school students. It should be a useful complement to traditional strength training and be a part of strength training.
