Ethnic migration is the process that a nation moved from the original settlement to another place to settle for some reason.In Chinese history,Qiang is the most active,a large population base,a large number of tribal groups,their migration is a necessary historical phase.The Qiang history is a history of ethnic migration,they experienced three great migrations in history,that is Qin and Han Dynasties,Wei Jin Southern and Northern Dynasties,and Sui Tang Dynasties.It can be said that migration of The Qiang and the great migration period in Chinese history.Qiang migration is the research object of this article.Study time degined in the pre-Qin dynasty to the five dynasties.On the basic of summarizing the predecessors’s research results,attempting to supporting Qiang migration in the Shang Dynasty,discussing migratory routes of Qiang tribes over the Tibetan plateau,such as Su-pi(苏毗),Yang-tong(杨同).Dominated by literature research,supplemented by historical and anthropological methods,with“great tradition and little tradition”dualistic theory of Sui Tang Dynasties in the management of migrated to Qiang.Mollification policy is the“little tradition”of the Central Plains Dynasty’s the administrative system and be made good use of managing Qiang to be migrated.Through on in pre-Qin,Qin Han,Wei Jin and Northern and Southern Dynasties,Sui Tang four periods Qiang migration history of focus analysis and introduction to Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms Qiang migration situation,paper outlines out basically principal Qiang tribes in each period,summing up features of Qiang migration in different periods,summarizing the cause and the influence of Qiang migration of causes,thinking:First,Qiang migration because of natural causes,economic reasons,and political reasons.Second,the movement of Qiang has active migration and passive migration.Third,the Qiang mainly migrated along the East,South,West and North four lines.The last one,Qiang migration to make a great contribution to the formation and development of the Chinese nation,especially Han,Tibetan,and the formation of the nationalities’ancestors in Tibetan-Qiang-Yi corridor(藏羌彝走廊)is directly related to Qiang’s“blood transfusion”.Meanwhile,Qiang migration to the Central Plains Dynasty and its own development but also exerted a great influence.
