| The application of information technology to teaching has been developed rapidly nowadays. Employing information technology to cultivate students’ comprehensive ability in using English has always been regarded as a goal of English teaching. Attempting to find out whether the integration of IT and curriculum (this integration is referred to as flipped class) can contribute to improving students’speaking ability, the present paper proposes a construction mode for English spoken teaching on the basis of theories of flipped class and read-to-speak. The action research as a key method in this dissertation, together with quasi-experimental research and survey research, is applied to English spoken instruction for senior high students of Grade 1 in a local school. There are nine classes serving as sample tests under the guidance of the proposed construction mode. It is found that the grades between experimental class and controlled class are quite different (Sig. (2-tailed)=0.026)after the nine periods of classroom teaching when independent-Sample T test is used to analyze the scores. Compared with the previous motivation test, the motivation in the experimental class is significantly higher than before based on the result of T test of paired samples (Sig. (2-tailed)=0.000).The construction of instruction mode and the research are based on the integration of flipped class and read-to-speak. The mode has strong operability and practical significance. All in all, this dissertation creatively applies flipped class theory to the study of the read-to-speak instruction of senior high school, forcefully attesting to the feasibility and superiority of this mode. |
