| After the full implementation of curriculum reform on kindergarten and the enaction of the <Guideline to the Learning and Development of Children Aged 3-6>, kindergartens in our country have focused more on developing children’s self-inquiry learning ability. Regional activity has become one of the main activity forms of children’s self-inquiry learning, especially the science area, which is classified as exploratory activity area. Besides, activity materials are an important link between "teaching and learning", which is of great significance to develop children’s self-inquiry learning ability in science area and children’s early scientific literacy.Based on "kindergarten regional activity evaluation sheet" in Fujian province, this research uses self-made observation evaluation sheet as a research tool, and the method of taking record on observation table. By means of field observation, case analysis and interview, and the combination with modern teaching theories and the situation in the kindergarten, the research introduces the current situation of activity materials in kindergarten’s scientific area from four aspects below:the condition of the delivery and replacement of the materials in science activity area; the interaction between children and materials in science area; teachers’ instruction on the interaction between children and materials and teachers’ reflections on the condition of science area and the materials. The research finds the main problems of the materials in the scientific area as follows:too much closeness on materials’ delivery; lack of positive interaction between children and materials, too much intervention of the teachers with low effect, lack of the evaluation from the perspective of the children as the subject and little attention paid on the process of evaluation. In response to the existing problems, the author analyzes the possible factors and puts forward to corresponding measures:We should promote appropriate material delivery and extend its value; draw up clear aim and develop scientific guidance; enhance our reflections and implementation. |
