In this paper,we study the the application of "Teaching for Understanding" teaching model in middle school geography teaching.It depends on researches in teaching practice whether TfU framework will enhance students’understanding, improve teaching,improve the achievement and interest in learning.Combined with the questionnaire survey,This study uses the parallel group pre-examination & post-examination quasi experiment method to carry out the study.Two senior high school classes in Jiangning No.1 Middle School were selected as experimental subjects.the past teaching mode is used in the comparative class,while the TFU teaching mode is adopted in the experimental class.After the experiment,the study uses the Excel software to statistical analysis of the experimental data,and uses Z test to determine the differences of the teaching effect level.The result of the study shows that tfu teaching model in middle school geography teaching has achieved the good intended effect,has improved the achievement and interest in learning geography.Hence,application research of TfU teaching model in middle school geography teaching boasts the feasibility and substantial results,which results in providing experience and inspiration for other teaching teachers, which results in the promotion of TfU teaching model.
