Analysis And Governance Of "Unit Protection Awareness" In The Academic Atmosphere Construction

"Unit Protection Awareness" is a special product with Chinese characteristics. In recent years, many colleges and universities in our country appeared frequently a variety of research misconduct caused by unit protection awareness. The behavior main body involved experts in various fields, famous scholars, graduate students, and even key university professors and academicians. Consequently, the unit protection awareness gradually surfaced and is exposed to the sun. In this study, by reviewing relevant literatures and analyzing typical cases, and combining the prominent manifestation of the unit protection awareness, we try to explore the countermeasures and measures to guard against and control the unit protection awareness. This article suggests that the unit protection awareness is the result of many comprehensive factors, including the infection of academic corruption, the scarcity and competitive of university academic resources, the defective performance evaluation mechanism of university scientific research, and the imperfect punishment mechanism of university academic dishonesty. The unit protection awareness based on unit interests will have a long and deep negative effect on the academic atmosphere construction, whether the protection awareness aimed at maximizing positive interests or minimizing negative interests. Directly, it will destroy the academic fair, waste academic resources, affect national development, and cause the situation "Bad money drives out good". Deeply, it will ruin the academic ethics, destroy the research integrity, damage the academic credibility, and exacerbate social corruption. In view of this, this article puts forward some specific countermeasures and suggestions to renovate the unit protection awareness in our country’s colleges and universities, as follows:consummating the policies and regulations of academic integrity, perfecting research assessment and evaluation mechanism, building academic criticism system, increasing academic resources, avoiding vicious competition, advocating organization ethics, and fostering academic discipline in unit.
