By means of questionnaire survey, this research investigated exercise motive, behavior and effect of mass badminton participants in Shenyang city with the aim to reveal their exercise psychology and behavior features, analyze training effect factors and provide valuable comments and suggestions. The results prove that:(1) Basic characteristics of mass badminton sports in Shenyang:first, the age structure mainly consisted of the young people aged from 21 to 35 and middle-aged people between 36-50; second, in the gender aspect, with "more male than female" characteristics; third, mass badminton participators with higher education; fourth, mass badminton players with relatively considerable income.(2) Exercise behavior characteristics of badminton players in Shenyang:most exercisers would choose lunch time to do sport; duration of exercise lasts for 1-3 hours for 75.9% sporters; 73.3% of players would work out more than 2 times a week; badminton doubles is the major form; 72.0% of participants play with teammates from the sport SNG, classmates, friends and colleagues as their partners.(3) Improving physical health is the first important exercise motive for most players. Other attendees play badminton with the aim of weight control, friendship and colorful extra-curricular life.(4) With positive result of mass badminton exercise effect, most participants hold the subjective feelings that their physical and mental functions and social adaption have been improved significantly or to some extent.(5) The main damages are soft tissue injuries, and muscle strains, while the main easy-injured parts are ankle, waist and elbow. Lack of necessary warm up and cool down during the movement is main reason.(6) Factors affecting training effect are as followed:irregular sport time, deficiency in sport knowledge, incorrect technical moves, etc.
