Study On The Development Of Internationalization Of Higher Education In Morocco

Morocco is a country with long history,which government put a high value on education as their development basis. Under the impetus of the global economic integration the higher education of the world has changed dramatically Since 1980s. In order to keep competitive power,the government of morocco was planing to reform their higher education and deciding to take the internationalization development path.This paper aimed internationalization of the higher education in Morocco as the research object to research the process of internationalization of higher education in Morocco since 1980s.The first part of this paper made a general introduction of Morocco education system by higher education history in Morocco, by the different type of higher education Morocco, by higher education system in Morocco and by academic degree system in Morocco. Based on above, in the end of this part analyzes the present situation and existing problems of higher education in Morocco.The second part of this paper introduce the background and the cause of f internationalization of higher education in Morocco. As the deeply development of globalization, the government of Morocco put their higher education into the international path with the help of Association of African Universities, The World Bank and other international organizations.The third part introduce the initial stage of internationalization of the higher education in Morocco in 1980s.’Structural adjustment program’issue by The World Bank made the higher education in Morocco become marketization, privatization and decentralization. All of these lead to the internationalization of the higher education in Morocco. During this period, the internationalization of higher education in Morocco has taken in several aspects,such as the international communication between teachers and students, the internationalization of teaching model reform, international cooperation in research field and the popularization of English teaching.in a word, under the influence of’Structural adjustment program’ higher education in Morocco become marketization and internationalization in1980sThe fourth part introduces under the new social economic background, the internationalization of Moroccan higher education has entered the new phase of accelerated development. In this period, Moroccan government issued National Education an Training Charter. This charter exert great influence on the internationalization of of higher education in Morocco. Such as the adoption of LMDsystem; the wild spread of distant education and the arising of Cross border education. In this period, he internationalization of of higher education in Morocco has the new forms and goes further development.Based on the above, the fifth part analyses the existing problems and challenges of the internationalization of Moroccan higher education. There exists many dilemmas the government must faced,such as the conflicts between localization and internationalization a, language problems and the brain drain.The last part made summary an of full text. The reflection of internationalization of higher education reform in Morocco is that the International development road in developing countries has both positive and negative aspects. Internationalization has brought opportunities as well as challenges to the developing counties.
