With the continuous advance of the popularization of higher education in China, China has become the country with the biggest scale of higher educat ion on the world, and undergraduate engineering education as a part of higher education, whether it is in the enrollment and graduation size population occupies the first in the world, for China’s economic growth and industrial development has made great contribution, but with China’s economic transformation and upgrading, faced with the development of the industrial engineering problems more complex, engineering talent engineering practice ability put forward higher requirements.The contradiction between the engineering development and the practical ability of the engineering talents is more and more obvious, which makes the higher engineering education in our country face more chances and challenges.. This study intends to develop the engineering practice ability for the purpose of the material forming and control professional education exploration, optimize the curriculum system to improve engineering students engineering practice ability.Firstly, through the school related documents and comparison of curriculum theory of text analysis to determine the educational goals of engineering education as a starting point, combined with the characteristics and development status of the current curriculum system of higher engineering education, based on the abilit y of engineering practice in the theory of curriculum system based.Secondly, by referring to the representative institutions of material forming and control of professional curriculum system, the status quo of the professional curriculum system investigation, reveal the problems existed in the current curriculum system of higher engineering education. Survey results show that engineering curriculum system in the implementation process also revealed many problems:(1) the curriculum structure thousand school side;(2) curriculum fault, subject professional curriculum arrangement lag;(3) practice curriculum lack of innovation;(4) individuality curriculum suffers the contempt, the comprehensive quality of students training formality.Finally, on the basis of above theoretical analysis and investigation, combined with MIT course system related experience, put forward some recommendations to optimize the material forming and control engineering curriculum system:(1) to renew the idea, optimization education goal;(2) optimize the curriculum structure, build core curriculum group;(3) the optimization of the curriculum arrangement, curriculum throughout;(4) combination of theory and practice, the construction of practice teaching system;(5) advocating the pluralistic culture and the construction of individual courses;(6) improved assessment methods, optimize the assessment indicators.
