"Teaching" is the core of educational activities. In the ancient traditional education in teaching Chinese called "Jiao Shou"; the period of the Republic of China, the intellectuals in Tao Xingzhi’s efforts, the "Jiao Shou" to "Jiao Xue". Whether it is "Jiao Shou" or "Jiao Xue", which is the same thing, the term changes process to construct the understanding of education and teaching, school, etc.. With the research methods of the history of ideas, author will analyze the content and features of the idea of traditional teaching and modern teaching which is founded during the republic of China. By comparing the two types ideas, from "traditional teaching" to "modern teaching", realizes that the latter is based on the former, but gave more new things for creating. According to this change, this paper believes that in this process political reforms, social idea played essential and fundamental role.This thesis is divided into five parts:The first part, mainly explains the original research and the significant research of this article, research status and summarizes the relevant " during the period of the Republic of China the idea of teaching" both at home and abroad, research methods of history of ideas in the using of China.The second part, it introduces the history of ideas, the research methods emerging and forming, focuses on the formation and development of history of ideas research methods America history school and Cambridge school. Secondly, the analysis method is introduced in this paper, the research methods used in this paper is the analysis of the text and the historical context, from the background of inquiry "Jiao Xue" to replace the "Jiao Shou".The third part, with the idea of history research methods of "Jiao Shou ", "Jiao X u e " a r e d y n a m i c o u t l i n e. T h i s p a p e r c o n s i d e r s t h a t t h e e v o l u t i o n o f traditional Chinese "Professor" concept of the beginning, development,climax has e x p e r i e n c e d t h r e e s t a g e s. D u r i n g t h e p e r i o d o f t h e R e p u b l i c o f t h e i n t e l l e c t u a l g r o u p " t e a c h i n g " c o n c e p t c a n b e c l a s s i f i e d i n t o t h r e e categories : national education, university refor m, promote the educati o nal p o p u l a r i z a t i o n a n d p r a c t i c a l i t y, a l l o f t h e s e a f f e c t t h e t e r m c h a n g e.The fourth part, the period of the Republic of China "teaching" concept is the concept of "Professor" on the basis of the change. This paper argues that the change in the concept of "teaching", keep pace with the times, mainly civilians, personality cultivation, scientific and other four characteristics.The fifth part is the period of the Republic of China, the concept of "Jiao Xue" itself, it is formed under the social background of the Republic of China. The s o c i a l c o n d i t i o n s a t t h a t t i m e, t h e i n t e r n a t i o n a l c o m p e t i t i o n i s democracy, social management confusion, influenced by the social background, the concept of "Jiao Xue" has three characteristics: equality, improve the ability of students t o u n d e r s t a n d t h e s o c i e t y a n d c u l t u r e o f s o c i a l s c i e n c e t a l e n t s.
