A good relationship between teacher and student is a guarantee of successful education and also affects the growth and development of both teachers and students."Mentor" model relationship between teachers and students indeed carries out the education concept of respecting teachers and loving students and example is better than precept, it is not only the inherent requirement and the inevitable factor of good education but also a kind of the wisdom which is ancient and classic.This article aims to explain the meaning and characteristics of "mentor" model relationship between teachers and students, and treats it as an important resource of moral education, discusses its moral function, namely knowledge education, spiritual genesis, behavioral learning education and practice cultivation. Through a questionnaire survey to understand the current status of teacher-student relationship in universities.Then contrapose the existing problems of the relationship between teachers and students, we will propose the construction strategy for "mentor" model relationship from three aspects,that is schools, teachers and students.On schools aspects, update the educational concepts to create an atmosphere for"mentor" teacher-student relationship model; pay attention to platform construction to create the conditions for teacher-student interaction; improve the management pattern and mechanism; strengthen the construction of professional ethics and optimize teaching atmosphere.On teachers aspects, increase our self-cultivation and "teaching knowledge"capability; deepen the emotional impact and play a good role of’teaching truth"; inspire students’ thinking and guide gently,be careful with our words,think carefully and behave sincerely,and to be "critical friends " of the students; be a good listener, willing to help, willing to share, and become " bosom friends" of the students.On students aspects, get a clear view of teachers and students, and strengthen the consciousness of respecting teachers; correct concept of learning, and improve the consciousness of self-discipline; take the initiative to promote teacher-student interaction. This study enriches the theoretical guidance of the construction of teacher-student relationship, has an extensive theoretical value and practical significance.
