| Some new changes have taken place in historical research with the development of the times and the social changes. Popular History is one of the changes. At the same time, the Eighth Curriculum Reform develops in depth, which makes demands on history teaching in senior middle school. That is to say, historical research and history teaching in high school are all facing the new trend. So it is the best timing for both historical research and history teaching to develop from separation to contact.This dissertation will take Popular History as the starting point and combine historical research with history teaching in order to rethink the history teaching in senior middle school with the popularization perspective and promote the development of history teaching. Therefore, the paper consists of three parts. The first part focuses on the theory of Popular History, including social background, motivating factors, main connotation, manifestations and so on. Based on history teachers, high school students and teaching methods, the second part summarizes the challenges to history teaching, including subject orientation, historical narratives, history teaching mode and curriculum resources. The last part comes up with some strategies aiming at the problems put forward in the second part with the sight of Popular History. |
