Study On Change Characteristics Of Postgraduate Education System From 1949 To 1984

Talented person is the core and education is the foundation in the building of an innovative country and higher power construction. As the main way to train high-level personnel to develop graduate education, Graduate education has become an important integral part of national strategies.In the future development of postgraduate education,the reform of graduate education system is very important.We can learn the rise and fall from history,research the change of graduate education system can provide a historical basis for the future development of graduate education system in building higher power and innovation-oriented country in the process.The enacted of the first law of the degree regulation of the People’s Republic in 1981, which has solved the problem and difficulty of recovery and development in higher education and degree awarded. In 1984, our university began to pilot the first graduate school on a large scale, which become the big event in the history of the change of graduate education system with the promulgation of the law. This study describes transformation of postgraduate education system in China between 1949 and 1984, by collating and analyzing is the text of the relevant policies and laws between 1949 and 1984, discuss the vicissitude, characteristic, background and main contents of stage in the graduate education system.The paper concluded that:(1) It can be divided into four phases with different characteristics in the changes of graduate education system between 1949 and 1984:from 1949 to 1956, followed by the change of society,imitated Soviet establishment and followed raining methods of Graduate teacher;from 1957 to 1963,participate in the "Education Revolution" before 1961 and the system had become after the reorganization in the years of 1961-1963; the graduate education system was abolished and the original graduate education system has been totally replaced between 1964 and 1976; postgraduate education finally back on track after setting things right, establishing the degree system and complex to send students graduate,graduate education system has go to stabilize and gradually improve between 1977 and 1984.(2) We can be found the strong government control has always existed Throughout the changes of graduate education system between 1949 and 1984,the government has become the main form of leading institutional change of graduate education. (3) Institutional change is historic, tiny historical events may have an impact on institutional change,the visiting of Dean of American delegation of the Graduate School provides a solid theoretical learning and practical reference in the the first batch of graduate school.
