A Research On The Development Of School-based Curriculum On Safety Education In Primary School

Safety is vital for primary student’s healthy growth and it’s closely related to every family’s happiness.Primary school is the critical period for safety education.It’s one of an effective way to develop primary school-based curriculum of safety education.However,there are many problems with the current development of primary school-based curriculum of safety education.To find and solve these problems to improve the effect of the development of primary school-based curriculum of safety education is of great significance.This thesis could be divided into four parts:Part I mainly clarifies the origin of the study,some related literature review,the research methods and the significance of this study.Part II takes Binhai No.9 Primary School in Haikou City of Hainan Province as an example, using some methods, such as questionnaires, interviews, for the analysis of the problems and their causes in the development of school-based curriculum of safety education in the school.Based on investigation, it finds some problems in the development process of school-based curriculum of safety education which are as follows: the management methods of school leaders are improper with low degree of cooperation of teachers; the professional quality of safety education of teachers needs to be improved; there is a lack of support and help of external forces, such as parents, community, external experts, and so on; there are also some problems exist in the implementation process of primary school-based curriculum of the safety education,such as inadequate class hour of safety education and teaching facilities of safety education, a lack of specificity of curriculum content, and so on; the lack of a scientific and reasonable evaluation system of school-based curriculum of safety education.Part III puts forward some strategies to improve the development of primary school-based curriculum of safety education,which mainly includes five aspects:improve the management of the development of primary school-based curriculum of safety education; enhance teachers’ professional skills of safety education and construct a high qualified teaching staff.;strengthen the cooperation between the school, family and society and mining all available resources;promote the effective implementation of the school-based curriculum of safety education;change the traditional concept of curriculum evaluation and establish a scientific and reasonable school-based curriculum evaluation system of school-based curriculum of safety education.
